Q: Who exactly are you guys, and why are you here?

A: We’re just a group of fans who were disappointed when Sci Fi Channel canceled the series, and we wanted to see it continue. This seemed to us to be the best way to do that. It’s a lot of work, but we fully believe it is worth it. Most of the VS writers are also fanfiction writers and have stories up on various fanfic sites. Check our Library link for archived stories by staffers and other talented writers, as well as the Links button for other fiction, image and video sites.

Q: What does ‘VS’ stand for?

A: VS stands for Virtual Season, which is what this is. Virtual seasons are the best we can manage in lieu of the real ones we would vastly have preferred.

Q: When are the episodes posted?

A: At approximately 6-8 week intervals. Announcements of a new story release will be posted to the known I-Man mailing lists and bboards. It’s difficult to be more exact than that, because many things can affect the timing, most of which have to do with that wonderful thing called Real Life. Contrary to popular opinion, even fans have one.

Q: I tried to get to the new episode, but the old one is still there. What should I do?

A: It’s possible that the episode simply hasn’t been posted yet. If you’re sure that it has been, try hitting the "Refresh" button at the top of your browser menu; that usually works. If you still can’t find it, you may have to type the exact path into your browser. (You can get the exact path from our webmistress, axz.)

Q: Where do you get the graphics and pictures you use on the site? Can I borrow them?

A: The graphics connected with the website itself are courtesy of the webmistress and staffers, as well as guest artists. The title graphics for individual episodes are made from scratch, by members of the VS staff. A lot of hard work went into their creation, and we would ask you to respect our rights and not use them without first asking permission.

Q: I can't seem to get past the teaser and/or opening credits page. What should I do?

A: Due to problems some people have been experiencing, possibly due to the Quicktime video on the opening credits page, a 'skip intro' button has been inserted into the episode teasers that will take you directly to the first commercial. That way, if you are experiencing problems with the video, or are just tired of watching it, you can side-step it and still continue to enjoy your reading. NOTE: If you are running Windows XP and have installed 'Service Pack 2" you will may encounter problems veiwing the Quicktime movie. If so, try installing Java, as "Service Pack 2" apparenlty replaces it with a Microsoft version that is not compatible.

Q: I want to access the Quicksilver Library. What should I do?

A: Click on the "Library" button on the main page, then click on the 'speak no evil' image. If that doesn't work, click here.

Q: I want to upload my story to the Quicksilver Library. What should I do?

A: When you have finished your story, save it in Microsoft Word as either an RTF (rich text file) or in HTML format by going to the main pull-down menu in Word and selecting the 'save as' option, and choosing the format option: rich text or html. Once you have registered with the QS Library site, choose 'upload' from the menu and the browse for the name of the file you saved (adjust as needed). For more detailed instructions, click here.

Q: I want to check out your image files. What should I do?

A: Click on the Library button on the main page, then click on the 'see no evil' image. If that doesn't work, click here.

Q: I have a picture I want to upload. What I should I do?

A: When you have saved the image as a .jpg (jpeg file) with a maximum size of 1 mg (1000K), choose the number of files you wish to upload (max will be listed in the dark gray text box) and put the number in the "File upload boxes." Do the same for " URI/URL upload boxes." Please note that it is very poor netittiquette to upload from other people's websites without their express permission. If you are found to be doing so you will be requested to cease and desist. If you do not comply, the images will be removed. If you are caught doing this three times you will be banned from the Image Library. [a more detailed FAQ for the Image Library is still under construction.]

Q: Do you have links to other I-Man sites?

A: Yes. We try to advertise other I-Man fan sites as commercials within each episode. We also have a links button on the main page with as many current links to fan sites as we know of. These are, sadly, subject to change without notice.

Q: If I see an image in the Image Library I want to download, may I?

A: The images in the Image Library are generally low resolution. You may download them. HOWEVER: in the case of artwork, to download a high quality image, please contact the artist via email. They will let you know what their personal policies are, and whether or not they charge for a large, high resolution file, as well as what their copyrights are. Please respect their policies!
